Xandra's Xcapades!

March 1, 2008

Busy, Busy, Busy! I am enjoying all the totally different things I get to do as Miss Teen Greater Richmond! One great thing about being so busy is I never have a problem falling right to sleep. ☺ There is just so much to do to get ready for Miss Virginia’s Outstanding Teen competition in June. I can hardly wait to see all of my favorite teen and preteen friends again and to meet new friends, too.  It is going to be such a fun and exciting week!

Valentine’s Day has been my favorite holiday since I was a little girl. This year, my dad made my mom, my little sister, and me breakfast and each one of us got our own vase of flowers. The ladies baked cookies and some other delicious treats.   Later that day, we went out to dinner at our newest Thai restaurant in town called Thai Winchester.

I enjoyed my interview for my first article as Miss Teen Greater Richmond! I had a wonderful time with Francis Lowe, who interviewed me, on the 19th. That evening, a photographer came to my dance studio to take pictures of me practicing. I am anxious to see it published in the upcoming weeks in my local newspaper, The Winchester Star!

I was very disappointed to have “Queen for a Day” was postponed to a later date at the Georgetown Hospital. But, I still got to travel to Frederick, MD to see my directors. Mrs. Cox judged their local pageant and Mr. Cox sat with my mom and me to cheer for the fabulous contestants! All of the girls did an amazing job!

My church has recently built a new section onto the church, where youth church groups and other various events will be held. To decorate the walls of the play area for the children, families who wished to participate purchased special tiles and decorated them with paint. The tiles will be fired to put a glossy finish and placed onto the walls to add color. On my family tile, we decided to divide the tile in four area so that my parents shared a quarter, and Heather, Trilby and I had our own quarters. My side had my name, the year I graduate from high school (‘09), a crown, and 2 megaphones- which is perfect to describe myself right now in this moment in my life! This was a really great time!

I look forward to this upcoming weekend, I am fortunate enough to co-manage a 3rd and 4th grade Destination Imagination team for Powhatan School, and we will be competing Saturday morning at the Regional Competition. Later in the evening, I am looking forward to seeing all of the ladies at the Miss Southeastern Virginia Pageant.

For the 3rd edition of Xandra’s Xcapades, check back in about two weeks! Have a great week! Can’t wait to talk to ya’ soon!

It would be so cool to hear from you!
