Jordan's Journal

Wow!  It is hard to believe that almost a week has passed since I was crowned Miss Greater Richmond 2008.  I cannot even begin to express how incredibly honored and excited I am to hold this title.  Having loved and admired the Greater Richmond team since my entry into the Miss Virginia Organization, I can tell you that it really is a dream come true.

Thank you to everyone who helped me with my preparation for the pageant.  I certainly could not have done it without you!  And a special thank you to the MGR committee for their unconditional support and guidance to all of the contestants plus their tireless efforts to ensure we had a great show.  In addition, thank you to the parents and families of the contestants for their support, applause and good wishes to me on competition night.  It was really a great pleasure to be friends with the MGR contestants and I look forward to seeing you on my journey this year.

I rested for a grand total of one day before starting to fill my appearance calendar and putting my Miss Virginia “game plan” into action.   I’m really excited about an appearance coming up on Sunday, Feb. 24th at the historic Byrd Theater in the Carytown area of Richmond.  It is a fundraiser sponsored by the Central Virginia Film Institute and the Institute will award scholarships to rising teen actors and actresses in May.  So imagine – Spotlights-Gowns-Media (sponsored by Channel 8 TV)-the Red Carpet and Oscar Night Awards and Celebration at the Byrd Theater!   I look forward to this Saturday to cheer on the contestants and support our friends in the neighboring regions at the Miss Hanover and Miss Chesterfield Pageant.

This is the first edition of Jordan’s Journal, and I plan to update it on a regular basis, so check back for weekly updates of my year of service as your Miss Greater Richmond!!!
