What do you like most about your community? The City of Chesapeake has a real hometown sense of community especially with its annual Christmas parade and the annual Civil War Re-enactment Festival. The entire Hampton Roads area has many opportunities for education and performance in the Performing Arts industry for professionals and amateurs with its Virginia Musical Theatre, Virginia Stage Company, Virginia Ballet Theatre and new facilities such as the Ferguson Center for the Arts and the Sandler Center. What do you like about your school? The variety of clubs and after-school activities that help students become well-rounded. Once, during gym class, I was hit in the face with a dodge ball, and I wasn’t even participating in the game! What is a surprise that has happened to you? Receiving the title of Miss Teen Greater Richmond! Anything else you’d like to share: I was honored to perform in Japan last summer with the Governor’s School for the Arts through the Japan Education Cultural Center. Our goal was to promote peace through educational and artistic exchanges. I lived with two Japanese families, which was a very rewarding adventure to actually experience their everyday culture and family life. We will be friends forever with frequent conversations on the email.
